Iris Murdoch, a renowned British novelist and philosopher, attended Badminton School from 1932 to 1938, forming part of her early education before she went on to study at Oxford University. She is best known for her novels that explore moral and philosophical themes, and was awarded the DBE (Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 1987.
