What is recorded here

Iolaire Centre in Stornoway is a layered site holding a medieval castle, a 19th-century fish market, quay and warehouse, and a 20th-century pier. Those are the only facts supplied, so the rest is imagination: sailors may have walked past salt-cracked stone, merchants may have stacked crates beside the water, and children may have chased gulls along the pier. The centre still belongs to that busy coastal life, even when no person stands inside it.
