Inverquharity Castle is a surviving 15th-century tower house in Angus, built by Alexander Ogilvie, 2nd Lord Inverquharity, after the Ogilvie family received the lands around 1420. Its sharp edges and long shadow suggest a home made for pride, defense and daily life rather than display. The castle has been lost, rebuilt and sold again, yet it still stands as a private house beside the River South Esk.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Inverquharity Castle as Farmstead (medieval) - (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Inverquharity Castle was built by the Keith family in the 16th century and later held by the Erskine family. It is remembered as a historic seat associated with the powerful noble families of the region and for its strategic location in the Cowal peninsula of Scotland.
