Castle Heather still drops a green golf ball into Loch Ness, where a wee monster may swallow it or return it damp. The course belongs to Inverness and Fairways Leisure, yet it answers to water, memory and playful loss. A person can swing with confidence because the monster understands joy, not arrogance. What disappears may reappear beside the car, smelling of rain and ancient patience.
