What is recorded here

Invergarry, Glengarry Castle Hotel holds an unknown-period sundial beside the Highland water. The missing date does not diminish the mark because shadow and stone still obey the sun. A person may have stood there at noon, reading time without numbers while the castle and river witnessed the quiet measurement.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Invergarry, Glengarry Castle Hotel as Sundial (period Unknown). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Glengarry Castle, later converted into a hotel, was originally built by the Clan Cameron in the 16th century, with significant rebuilding occurring in the 17th century. It is historically important as a stronghold associated with the Cameron clan and as a notable example of Scottish castle architecture in the Highlands.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
