Inscribed stone in Inishmurray

Recorded by Wakeman (1893, 80) ‘in a modern recess in the Cashel wall [SL001-001001-].’ The current whereabouts of the stone are unknown. Slab (220 by 160 mm) with upper left hand corner and base broken off. The surface was filled with most of the upper and left arms, a complete right arm and short section of the shaft of an incised cross with triangular terminals. There was a circular expansion at the crossing decorated with a false relief boss. Parts of a horizontal inscription remain in two lines positioned above and below the horizontal cross members.
