What is recorded here

Galboly Lower holds an inscribed stone marking the Irish Famine, when hunger emptied entire townlands and the living buried what they could carry. The stone exists because forgetting would have been a second killing. It stands in County Antrim as a modern witness to that loss, carrying the weight of names never spoken and fields that stopped producing.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as INSCRIBED STONE (commemorating Irish Famine). Recorded period: MODERN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
