What is recorded here

This stone is currently incorporated into the interior E wall of St Peakaun's church (TS075-023001-). It is described by Okasha and Forsyth (2001, 238-9) as a small slab (H c. 0.08m; Wth c. 0.195m) and is 'a fragment of a slab of unknown form broken on all four sides. On the visible face of the stone is a pair of parallel horizontal lines which may have been guide-lines … [for] a one-line text'. It is listed as Toureen Peacaun 6 (ibid.). The stone was uncovered during the 1944 excavation (Duignan 1944, 227; Macalister 1949, 213). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
