St Drostan's Parish Church in Insch is associated with St Drostan, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary who founded a monastery in the area, promoting Christianity among the Picts. Local tradition holds that he performed miracles and that holy wells near the church were believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments and general healing.
