St Drostan's Episcopal Church in Insch is associated with St Drostan, a 6th-century Pictish monk and saint, traditionally linked to the founding of a monastery at Insch. Local tradition holds that St Drostan was a hermit who lived in the area and was known for his healing miracles, particularly for curing eye ailments.
