Inner Bailey, Portchester Castle is a castle, fort or tower in Fareham, England. Perhaps soldiers paced the inner yard while storm waves hammered the outer wall, making the stone shake beneath their boots. Maybe the bailey existed to give those soldiers a dry place to breathe when the coast turned violent.
