What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where human history has thinned to suggestion. The soil may have held a household, a boundary or a warning before it became a place people point at instead of naming. That loss of identity is the shape of the fort now: a circle large enough to enter, but refusing to say what it was for.
