Why this matters

A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

What is recorded here

Marked faintly as a subcircular enclosure (dims. c. 45m N-S; c. 40m E-W) at the junction of three field banks on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a fairly level landscape. No feature is visible at ground level in a cereal crop. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 26 June, 2012
