What is recorded here

On the summit of a steep-sided hill overlooking Cleggan Bay to W. Poorly preserved oval enclosure (E-W 20.5m, N-S 13.5m), the enclosing wall of which is overlain in all portions by a modern field wall. Kinahan (1871, 351) suggested that it was 'probably a Caher' but the discovery of a pair of saddle querns at the monument may indicate a prehistoric date (Molloy and O'Connell 1987, 205).
