Enclosure

Why this matters

A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

What is recorded here

Situated on level, rough, outcropping rock in dense hazel scrub. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996) and indicated on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. On inspection in 1997 this was found to be a modern enclosure defined by a single drystone wall, partially collapse and overgrown with hazel scrub.
