What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where human history has thinned into legend. The soil may have held a household, a boundary or a warning before it became a place people point at instead of entering. That shift from living space to marked exception is the shape of the local world: ordinary life recedes, and the land keeps what it wants to remember.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
