What is recorded here

Indicated is a forgotten cairn in County Mayo, Ireland, where a foolish temple now stands inside a broad ring of loose stone. The structure occupies the heart of the ancient marker, turning memory into a stage for human vanity. The temple may be arrogance, love or madness, but the stone ring still belongs to the land.

In rough pasture. Small, circular area on OS map (1838). Interior of site now occupied by the Temple, a folly. Surrounded at the base by what may be cairn material (diam. 23m; H 1.2m).
