What is recorded here

Indicated was a circular crannog in Lough Brohly, large enough for life but now hidden beneath risen water. It appeared on the 1838 map and vanished from later ones, suggesting the lake swallowed what people had shaped. The water did not erase the place; it changed the rules of entry.

In Lough Brohly. A roughly circular vegetation-covered island (diam. c. 35-40m) is shown roughly in the centre of the lake on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but is not shown on later map editions.
