Why this matters

A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.

What is recorded here

On a level landscape. Circular grass-covered but poached area (diam. 43.9m N-S; 42.7m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 3.1-5m; int. H 0.4-0.5m; ext. H 0.75-1.6m) ESE-S-NNW which is incorporated into a field bank (Wth 2.1m; int. H 1.85m; ext. H 1.4m) NE-ESE, although the perimeter is truncated by a WNW-ESE field bank at N. There are traces of a fosse (Wth of top 4.2m; Wth of base 1.2m; D 0.1m) SE-WSW, and there are entrances at WNW (Wth 2m) and S (Wth 2m), the latter probably being original.
