What is recorded here

Indicated is a broken cashel on a Galway rise, its drystone wall collapsed beneath later field boundaries and a passing railway. The children's burial ground inside suggests the fort remained a living place long after its defence failed. A train still shakes the ground above the dead, carrying the world past the spot where they stopped moving.

On a rise in grassland. This poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 29.5m) is defined by a collapsed drystone wall from SSE through W to NNW that is overlain by a field wall. Another field wall cuts the monument from NNE to SSE, immediately to E of which lies a railway line. A disused trackway cuts it from NNW to NE. There is a Man-made underground passage (GA123-062001-) and a children's burial ground (GA123-062002-) within the interior.
