Indicated is a handsome fairy fort in County Kerry, Ireland, occupying a circular pasture above the Deenagh River. Cattle have trampled its southern bank, yet the northern and eastern arcs still mark a wide ring where people may have lived, watched the valley, or played under passing stars. The land has worn the fort into itself, preserving only enough shape to suggest that it once stood complete.

In pasture, on a SE-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Deenagh River. A circular area (diam. c. 42m) defined by slight traces of a bank (Wth c. 2m; H c. 0.3m) SW-SE, best preserved along the N and E arcs. The bank along the S arc is obliterated, the result of being trampled by cattle. The interior, which may be slightly raised, slopes gently down to the SE. This 'handsome' rath which 'derives its name from the townland' in which it is situated was mentioned in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 3, 30). It is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) enclosed by an arc of the bank SW-E which abuts a NE-SW field boundary at SE and a NW-SE field boundary at SW.
