What is recorded here

In rocky rough pasture, on a gentle W-facing slope, to W of Kilmorgan church and graveyard (SL034-081001-; SL034-081002-) and bounded by roads to N and E. A series of small irregular relict fields covering an area c. 200m x 200m, enclosed by earthen banks (Wth c. 2m; H c. 1m) faced with large limestone slabs. Some of the field boundaries follow the contour line along the slope creating divisions where marked changes in elevation occur. A small circular field adjacent to the road on the E side (diam. c. 30m) is enclosed by an earthen bank faced with large upright boulders. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
