Indicated is a circular fairy fort on the lower slopes of Mullaghmesha, where a two-and-a-half-metre earth and stone bank still holds its shape in open pasture. Local tradition claims a hidden tunnel links it to another fort half a kilometre west, surfacing only as a pale line in dry grass. The idea suggests these were never isolated markers but rooms in a buried house, waiting for somebody reckless enough to walk the seam between them.

In pasture, at E end of low E-W ridge, on lower slopes of Mullaghmesha, S of Mealagh River. Circular area (29m N-S; 27.1m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (H 2.4m). Myler (1998, 90) records 'that there is a local tradition of a tunnel connecting this fort with another rigfort 150 yards to the west of it (CO106-029----). The tunnel is said to show up as a line in the grass in dry weather'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
