What is recorded here
Located at the bottom of a SE-facing slope with a small NE-SW stream c. 15m to the SE. It is marked and described on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map with a house c. 120m to the NE, but it is also indicated on the 1835 edition of the map. This is a subrectangular chamber (int. dims 1.65m x 1.67m) built of stone bonded with clay and incorporated into a NE-SW field bank. It has a lintelled roof (H 1.2m) and an entrance (Wth 0.55m; H 0.48m' L 0.6m) at SE with an outer funnel (L 0.65m) leading to the entrance. It survives in a clearing in a coniferous forest (Bing 2013).
