What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, an artificial island built among wetlands where people lived, kept fire, and watched the water rise. The name gives no further shape, but the form is clear: a small made land in a fluid place, strong enough to hold a home and strange enough to remind us how much of human life depended on inventing solidity.
