Field boundary

What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on undulating moorland in the valley of the Roughty River. The remains of curvilinear stone walls protrude intermittently above the surface of the bog throughout an area c. 120m NE-SW x c. 100m NW-SE. A typical section of field wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) extends (L c. 15m) to the NE from a hut site (KE076-018001-) and runs on into bog. Another hut site (KE076-018002-) is within this network of field walls. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork.
