Small oval area projecting N into Ballydonegan Bay, isolated from mainland by long narrow neck. Stone-based earthen bank (H 2.9m) crosses neck at junction with interior. Break in bank to SE (Wth 1.5m); stone (H 0.9m; 0.38m; 0.15m) on E side of break described by Westropp (1921, 5) as 'a gate pier'. Interior much collapse into sea, particularly on NE side. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO127-002002-) to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
