What is recorded here

In pasture, on the SW-facing slope of ridge, 16m downslope of a rath (MA031-016001-). Raised circular area (diam. 7m) defined on the N half by a bank (Wth. 2.5-3m; int. H 0.55m; ext. H 0.6m) of earth and stone, and on the S half by a pronounced scarp (ext. H 1.8m). The interior is level, built up on the S half to compensate for the natural slope. A low section of scarp at ESE may mark an entrance. The interior is scattered with loose stones, which also occur along the top of the bank. There is a small, sod-covered cairn (diam. 3m; H 1.4m) of stones, most likely field clearance, 15m to N. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 13 June 2018
