What is recorded here

On a rise in an undulating landscape. Circular grass-covered area with some bushes (diam. 34.6m NNW-SSE; 33.6m ENE-WSW) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 8-9m; Wth of top 1.6m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) and a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7-7.2m; Wth of base 1.5-2m; D 0.6-0.8m). The entrance (Wth 2.6m) and causeway (Wth 3.3m) are at ESE, and the bank is overlain by the base of stone walls N-E and SE-S. There is a record of a possible house site (RO048-138002-) inside the perimeter at NW (Gannon 1972), which is not now visible. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
