What is recorded here

Indicated is a three-metre stony island thirty metres from the Keshcarrigan Lough shore, large enough for a person to stand but small enough to disappear when the water rises. It may have been a crannog, a temporary home or a marker for boats, yet no wall, posthole or made edge remains visible. The lough keeps the answer beneath its surface, holding the island like a marble in a closed fist.

Located c. 30m from the NW shore of the subrectangular Keshcarrigan Lough (dims c. 1km NW-SE; c. 400m NE-SW). It is depicted as a small island on the 1911 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is a small stony island (diam. c. 3m), with reeds growing in the water to the S (total diam. c. 8m). It has no visible evidence of artificial construction.
