What is recorded here
In a garden, on a level terrace on a S-facing slope and surrounded by rocky pasture. Indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure (c. 30m N-S; c. 20m E-W). The area of the enclosure is partially covered by a yard and a small pasture field; a bungalow and shed have been built immediately to N. A slightly curving field boundary, densely covered in overgrowth, may incorporate the line of the bank SSW-NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
