Indicated is a ruined circular fort on high rocky ground in County Clare, Ireland. Its stone walls stand barely one metre high today, but Westropp measured over two metres of good slab masonry in 1905. The gate faced south-southwest toward open scrub, inviting entry into a hollow ring where human hands shaped rock long before the stones sank back into earth.

On high rocky ground in scrub. Hachured on the 1842 and 1915 OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). Referred to by Westropp (1905, 349) as one of two ‘nearly circular’ and ‘nearly-levelled cahers’ with ‘walls of good, slab masonry’ (T c. 2.1m) ‘only rarely a few courses high’ (int. dims. c. 30-31m). Westropp also notes that the ‘gate of the western fort faced the S.S.W’ and a hut site (CL004-065001-) is located to the S (ibid.). A circular overgrown cashel (est. int. dims. c. 30m E-W; c. 30m N-S) defined by a stone wall visible from E to ESE (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1m) and at S (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.1m). In the interior there are traces of walls extending towards the centre from the ESE, SE and S. Another cashel (CL004-065003-) is located c. 40m to the ESE, a hut site (CL004-065001-) is located c. 50m to the S and a cairn (CL004-059----) is located c. 100m to the WSW.
