In rough pasture, straddling the narrow top of a low ridge on a roughly E–W axis. To N the ground falls gently to an area of wet boggy ground, beyond which the ground rises again; to S-SW there are views across a stream valley. A disused railway track lies 200m to E. A circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 25m), skirted on its S arc by a road, is shown on 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions, which depict a rectangular field plot (c. 40m E−W; c. 22m N−S), with trees in the interior of the field plot, and a road skirting its S side. The enclosure has been incorporated into a sub-rectangular field plot (c. 40m E–W; c. 20m N–S) and it is very difficult to trace its original form. The field plot is defined at SE−SSW, by a sunken track/road with a shallow curve, which undoubtedly respects the curve of the original enclosure; to W by a field fence, and to NW–E by a scarp (H 1m) with a shallow curve, which may also preserve the original curve of the enclosure; the scarp retains traces of stone facing but this is likely to relate its adaption to serve as a field fence. At NE–E a short section of the scarp appears to retain an internal lip, and may represent the remains of a bank (Wth c. 2.5–3m). The interior appears to have been disturbed and has several changes of level. The central area, which is somewhat raised, is crossed by a linear rise (Wth c. 1m), possibly a fence or wall, extending E–W.
