What is recorded here

Close to the N end of a sloping rocky ridge. The remains of a rectangular stone-built structure (int. dims. 5m x 2.1m). The walls (max. T 1.2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.6m) consist of limestone slabs set on their sides with some sandstone boulders. The W wall has been mostly removed. There is a possible entrance (Wth 0.35m) in the NE side. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
