Cathair Ban: In rough mountain pasture on the SE slopes of the Mount Eagle/Beennacouma ridge. A group of 4 corbelled drystone structures. (1) The easternmost structure is a circular clochaun with a lintelled entrance at SE. D: 3.85m. H: 1.75m. T: 1.55m. (2) Directly W of the latter is a D-shaped structure. D: 2.7 x 3.2m. H: 1.2m. (3) A short distance W of the latter are 2 conjoined structures of which only the NW half of the wall is traceable. D: 2 x 2m and 1.85 x 1.7m. H: 1.45m and .9m. (4) A little E of the latter structures and to NW of (1) is a small, poorly-constructed rock shelter which Macalister (1899, 261-2) interpreted as a Man-made underground passage but which was probably built as an animal shelter.
