Formaoil holds a circular hut site built from large boulders and upright slabs at the western edge of a spur above Ballinskelligs Bay. Local memory treats it as a burial place rather than an ordinary dwelling, giving the stones a solemn purpose. The western edge of the bay still passes beneath that hidden ridge, carrying the site forward in human life.

KE088-021----, known locally as a ceallúnach, is situated at the W end of an elongated spur, overlooking Ballinskelligs Bay to S. It is not marked on the OS maps. It consists of an approximately circular area that is enclosed by a substantial wall constructed of large boulders and some upright slabs. Occurring in the N half of the interior are the remains of a rectangular structure, 5.7m x 2.3m, and a number of small boulders and upright slabs. The site was used as a burial place within living memory. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
