Hut site in Drom North

In rough hill grazing, on blanket bog, on a break in an E-facing slope. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 3.7m) defined by the base courses of a drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.3m), which are embedded in the bog. Some of the stones in the wall, which are mainly grassed over, protrude above ground level. A dense growth of rushes obscures much of the hut site. A wall of a network of field boundaries (CO115-137005-) lies c. 7m to the W. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
