Hut site in Drom North

In wet rough hill grazing, on blanket bog on a gentle E-facing slope. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 3.2m) defined by the base stones of a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.35m) which protrudes intermittently above the blanket bog. Faint traces of an enclosing bank are visible where gaps occur in the wall. The hut site S-NW is cut (D 0.2m) into the upslope. The interior is level. There is a possible entrance in a level area along the E arc. There is a fulacht fia (CO115-111001-) 5m to the S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
