Hut site in Derreengarrinshagh

In rough hill pasture, on an E-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.2m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.3m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The E portion of the interior is raised (H 0.2m) to compensate for the hillslope and the W portion is cut (D 0.3m) into the upslope. There is a relict field boundary (KE101-090004-) in the immediate vicinity of the hut site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
