What is recorded here

A circular stone wall, thirty-two centimetres thick and barely half a metre high, still marks the footprint of a hut on the SE bank of the Drimminboy River. The drystone course resists the bog at the south and west, while the east has surrendered to decay. Another hut and two cairns sit within a stone’s throw, suggesting a small cluster rather than a lonely shelter. Whoever built it likely watched the river, tended the rough pasture, and left behind a ring of stones that outlived every timber and skin they owned.

In rough hill pasture, on the SE bank of the Drimminboy River. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 3.2m) defined by the lower course of a drystone wall (T 0.65m) which protrudes (H 0.2-0.6m) above the surface of the bog. The wall is fairly well preserved at S and W but is poorly preserved at E. There is another hut site (KE111-017----) 46m to the NE. Two cairns (KE111-017002-, KE111-017003-) are 12m to the E and 13m to the SE, respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
