Hut site in Coomanaspig

In rough hill grazing close to the edge of a high W-facing cliff with views of Valencia Island and Sceilg Mhichíl. A D-shaped hut site (3.2m N-S) with a straight S side (L 4.8m) defined by the vertical face of outcropping rock aligned E-W and elsewhere by a stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.2-0.7m) displaying traces of an inner row of contiguous slabs, against which are the partially obscured remains of a collapsed stone wall. Two large parallel slabs at W appear to have broken off from the rock-face. A break (Wth 0.7m) beside the rock-face at E may have been the entrance. There is another hut site (KE087-092----) c. 30m to the SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
