Cappaghkennedy: Hut site in a rath, County Clare. A semi-circular stone wall, open to the south, still marks a small dwelling inside the older earthwork. Trees shade the stones now, but the shape preserves a human choice: a roofed place, a doorway, a life lived within a larger ancient boundary.

Situated in the centre of a rath (CL010-039----), this tree-covered semi-circular hut site (est. c. 10m E-W; c. 6m N-S) is defined by a C-shaped stone wall (Wth 2.5-2.9m; H 0.7-1m) which is open at the S. Compiled by Conn Herriott and Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 20 February 2023
