Hut site in Canburrin

In a coniferous wood, in a bog on the lower N-facing slopes of Beenduff. The remains of a rectangular hut site (3.2m NW-SE; 2.3m NE-SW) defined by a roughly constructed stone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.7m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. There is an entrance (Wth 0.6m) at the SW corner. A rectangular annexe (2m NE-SW; 0.75m NW-SE; H 0.65m), which is roofed with stone slabs, is incorporated into the wall at SE. The entrance to the annexe is at NW. Two other hut sites (KE080-070001-, KE080-070003-) are c. 2m to the S and c. 25m to the ENE, respectively. The SW corner of an enclosure (KE080-070006-) is immediately to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
