Burren By. and Drumcreehy Ed. overlap on the eastern slope of Cappanawalla, where a nine-metre hut shadow still lies within curved field marks. It is not a grand castle or a polished monument; it is a small human bend in the land, perhaps belonging to the hillfort above or the fields below. The overlap does not erase the hut, but it reminds us that human places come in layers, and the smallest marker may still be the clearest.

High on the E slope of Cappanawalla. A possible irregular hut site (diam. c. 9m) was noted on Digital Globe (imagery date 2011-13) and reported to the National Monuments Service by Ros Ó Maoldúin. It is embedded in a curvilinear field system (CL002-034001-) and may be associated with Cappanawalla hillfort (CL002-076001-). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 23 November 2020
