Seven penitential cairns circle a vanished chapel on the western edge of Slieve League, marking a remote place of prayer rather than ordinary residence. The small surviving hut sits among them, exposing a hidden religious landscape where human bodies may have bled, starved or meditated before disappearing into legend.

Situated on the summit of Slieve League near the W edge of the mountain ridge overlooking the valley below. One of three hut sites (DG090-004009/010-) which is situated amongst 26 penitential cairns (DG090-004012-) all of which are approximately 60m W of Hugh Mac Brick's Church (DG090-004001-). Only the lower courses of the drystone wall (H 1m; wall T 1m) of a roughly circular shaped hut site (int. dims. 2.7m x 1.8m) survives with possible doorway now destroyed facing W.
