End-of-terrace L-plan two-bay two-storey over basement with dormer attic house, built 1840, having single-bay two-storey addition and later flat-roofed two-storey extension to side (north-west), built c.1900. Historically in use as rectory. Hipped slate roofs having rendered chimneystacks, gable-fronted dormer windows with slate hanging to sides, cast-iron and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered parapets with architrave, frieze and cornice to front (north-east) and side elevations. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having stone sills and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. uPVC casement windows to basement level. Moulded render surrounds to later extension openings having one-over-one and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings to later extension within render surrounds comprising panelled pilasters, architrave, frieze and cornice. Replacement timber glazed doors, flanking sidelights to north-west opening. Fronted by render portico having paired pilasters and fluted Doric columns surmounted by architrave, frieze and cornice. Cut limestone stepped approaches. Rendered and rubble limestone enclosing wall having rendered coping, moulded rendered gates piers and replacement double-leaf cast-iron gates. Camber-headed pedestrian entrance with replacement single-leaf cast-iron gate.

This imposing end-of-terrace house has retained numerous interesting features including its fine portico and limestone stepped approaches which lend an air of grandeur to both the house and the streetscape. The façade is enhanced by the retention of other historic features such as sash windows and moulded render parapets. It forms part of a terrace of three, which was built in the mid nineteenth century when seaside living was becoming fashionable.
