Terraced two-bay three-storey house over raised basement, built c.1830, as one of pair. Now in multiple occupancy. M-profile slate roof with black clay ridge tiles, hipped to south behind parapet wall with granite coping. Rendered chimneystacks with clay pots to north party wall. Painted red brick walls laid in Flemish bond on granite plinth course over ruled-and-lined rendered basement wall. Smooth cement rendered walls to rear elevation. Gauged brick flat-arched window openings with flush rendered reveals, painted granite sills and replacement uPVC windows. Gauged brick three-centred arch door opening with moulded surround, replacement timber door flanked by replacement columns and replacement lintel cornice with spoked fanlight over (possibly original). Door opens onto shared sandstone paved platform and seven granite steps bridging basement area. Platform and front paved garden enclosed by wrought-iron railings set on granite plinth wall to street.

This former townhouse forms an important component of a terrace of five tall red brick houses dating from the late Georgian period. Built as a result of the expansion of the city, brought about by the opening of the North Circular Road and the arrival of the railway from the early decades of the nineteenth century. The houses were constructed prior to the insertion of the former Dublin and Drogheda line which now runs immediately to the south of the pair of houses. Much altered, the house has had most external fabric replaced but retains its overall composition contributing to the early residential appearance of the terrace.
