The Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Crannagh depicts two substantial houses (KK017-006001-; KK017-006002-) in 'Boggan' on the E bank of the Munster River, or the ‘Moynagh’ as it is called on the Down Survey map (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). Though ‘Boggan’ is not mentioned specifically in the terrier accompanying the Down Survey parish map, this area appears to be unforfeited land belonging to John Grace in 1640 and was therefore not surveyed in any great detail.
