Terraced three-bay two-storey with attic house, built c. 1890. Canted single-storey flat-roofed bay and integral carriage arch to north elevation, return to south elevation. Pitched slate roof, clay ridge tiles, red brick corbelled chimneystack; dormer windows with slate roofs, clay ridge cresting, painted timber bargeboards, finials, glazed cheeks; moulded cast-iron gutter supported by brick corbels at eaves, square-profile cast-iron downpipe. Red brick walling laid in Flemish bond, ashlar limestone plinth, moulded brick strings, limestone string to sill level of first floor windows, moulded limestone cornice coping to canted bay. Square-headed window openings, moulded brick reveals and soffits to canted bay, limestone sills, painted timber one-over-one sliding sash windows; uPVC windows to dormer flanked by engaged painted timber colonnettes. Round-headed door opening, moulded brick surround, prominent limestone keystone, painted timber door with four raised-and-fielded panels, decorative brass door furniture, plain-glazed fanlight, granite and concrete steps, wrought-iron boot scraper. Set back from street, cast-iron railings on ashlar limestone plinth, segmental-headed carriage arch with painted smooth rendered arch gives access to rear site.

23 Seatown Place forms the central house in a terrace of identical structures. It has retained its form and proportion, which is heightened by the retention of original features. The decorative railings, together with the limestone detailing on the predominantly red brick façade, enliven the structure, which plays a positive role in the streetscape as well as making a positive addition to the architectural heritage of Dundalk.
