Terrace of six two-bay two-storey with attic houses, built c.1920, with single-storey returns and extensions to rear. Pitched slate roofs with terracotta crested ridge tiles, red brick corbelled chimneystacks, carved timber bargeboards to dormer windows and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded render bracketed eaves cornice. Smooth rendered walls, with continuous render sill course to first floor. Square-headed window openings with moulded render surrounds and one-over-one timber sash windows. Most houses with replacement uPVC and timber windows. Paired windows to dormers. Square-headed door openings with moulded render surrounds and replacement uPVC and timber doors with overlights. Set back from Douglas Road and accessed by way of south-facing gardens to the front of each house.

The original proportions and slate roofs of the houses on Rocklawn Terrace have been retained, helping to maintain the historic character. The survival of decorative features such as the timber bargeboards and ridge cresting attests to the attention to detail expended on the terrace by its builders. These simple embellishments enhance the simple functional form of the terrace. Although much fabric has been replaced, the houses continue to make a positive contribution to the streetscape, while the large front gardens are reminders of the suburban domestic housing ideals of the early twentieth-century.
